Over 50,000 patients helped since 1921

About Us

Christa Lehnert-Schroth is the Foremost Authority on the Schroth Method

In 1921 Katharina Schroth's success with her own scoliosis attracted attention, and she soon began to help others. By the late 1930s the method she had developed empirically was recognized as by far the best conservative scoliosis treatment system in Germany.

As a girl, Christa Lehnert-Schroth began helping her mother Katharina with scoliosis patients. After formal education as a physical therapist, she joined her mother's practice. In 1961 they moved their clinic to Bad Sobernheim (Rhineland), where the author was director until 1995.

The Asklepios Katharina-Schroth Klinik now accommodates 200 inpatients concurrently and has a waiting list for its treatment courses.

Christa Lehnert-Schroth treated or supervised more than 10,000 scoliosis patients in her 50-year career. Though retired from active practice, she retains an active interest in helping patients and therapists worldwide.

The Definitive Handbook
on Schroth Exercises

Written by Christa Lehnert-Schroth, P.T. this book includes:

  • Over 100 scoliosis exercises - with photos

  • Treatments for 3, as well as 4-curve configurations, which the author discovered, and which are actually more common than many doctors realize

  • Exercises for Scheuermann's kyphosis, flatback, hollow-back syndrome (hyperlordosis), lumbar kyphosis, spondylolisthesis, and related pathologies

"[Schroth therapy] was so effective that I can still feel the benefit in my bones, just from one single session...I can still climb stairs without struggling for breath. And all the credit goes to the good Schroth system of rotational breathing."

84-year old female patient
