Contains descriptions and photos of more than 100 scoliosis exercises from which the therapist can choose to suit individual patients.
Discusses and shows exercises for scoliosis, Scheuermann's kyphosis, flatback, hollow-back syndrome (hyperlordosis), lumbar kyphosis, spondylolisthesis, and related pathologies.
Most scolioses exhibit 3 abnormal curves, but the author discovered cases with 2, 4, 5, and even 6 curves. Her book explains how to treat these anomalies. Four curves have become relatively common, and must be treated differently than the three-curve configuration.
Adult and post-operative patients will benefit from the Schroth method, as will children and adolescents.
The easiest cases to treat are mild ones in early stages, yet even very severe cases (over 100 degrees) can achieve some success.
